Do physiotherapists have a confidential obligation?
Gary
I have had a conversation with my physiotherapist about something private. I have told her that i do not want her to tell this to anyone. Now i was wondering if physiotherapists have a confidential obligation?
Hi Gary sorry for the lengthy delay - I did not see your question. Yes physiotherapists do have to keep all information discussed private and confidential unless there is criminal activity and the police are questionning or unless there is a safeguarding issue putting a vulnerable person or child iat risk. Then these concerns must be raised with the relevant manager or authority.
Anything you choose to discuss, medical, personal etc will not be shared with anyone byteh physio.
